Organized crime-trafficking with human being

Organized crime - Trafficking in human beings This thesis deals with the criminal offence of trafficking in human beings under Sec. 168 of the Czech Criminal Code. A trafficking in human being is not a frequent criminal offence but with its consequences belongs to the most dangerous crimes. After the Velvet revolution the relevance of this crime has raised subsequently and therefore the regulation of this crime requires particular attention. It is important to find new ways and improve current methods to be readier to detect and investigate the cases of trafficking in human beings. The aim of this thesis is to provide an analysis of legal regulation of trafficking in human beings, organized crimed and methods of investigation and some related issues such as problematic of the protection of the witness. This thesis consists of three chapters. The first one deals shortly with the organized crime. It analyzes the term of the organized crime, because trafficking in human beings is usually committed by organized groups. I try to explain some basic terms related to this topic. Human trafficking: the role of the EU and the approaches to the problem in Czech Republic and in Belgium

This master thesis aims to unveil and examine the interplay between different actors in the fight against human trafficking. These are: the European Union, the Czech Republic and Belgium. A content (text) analysis of the primary sources gives the answers on how those actors work with the definition of human trafficking and to what extent the two member states implemented the EU Directive 2011/36/EU and other documents. In addition to conducting the content (text) analysis, creating a literature review and researching on different discourses linked to this phenomenon, this thesis include two semi-structured interviews with the representatives of the Czech Republic and Belgium. Those offer deeper insight into how those states form this fight in practice. They unveiled different aspects in their own approaches but also aspects that make their approach unique. This thesis examines also how the new strategy - the most important document framing the fight against human trafficking and the country's priorities - is adopted and what generally will those strategies include from the year 2020.

Implementatiton of international human rights standards in the field of human trafficking for labour exploitation in the Czech Republic

Trafficking in human beings is considered to be one of the most serious crimes in which there is a significant violation of fundamental human rights. Through recommendations and binding documents, international organisations call on states to prevent human trafficking, and if it occurs, to allow for the settlement of human rights of its victims. National governments are responsible for compliance with human rights commitments, not only on the level of policy formulation, but also in terms of their implementation in practice. However, experience of social work with trafficked persons in the Czech Republic shows that victims of this serious crime have no access to settlement of their rights. The aim of this paper was to evaluate whether the Czech Republic meets the selected human rights standards that ensure the victims' access to their rights. The evaluation of the situation was based on the selected criteria defining the meeting of individual human rights standards of the Aim for Human Rights organisation. Fulfilling the selected criteria was examined on the case of proceeding of state authorities in the case of exploitation of hundreds of foreign workers in the forestry industry, known as the "Stromkaři" (Tree Workers) case. Victims of human trafficking: Access to justice as Public Policy issue

The dissertation offers a complex insight into the workings of provisions regarding the policy in the area of combating human trafficking with a focus on the tools which should guarantee access to justice for victims of human trafficking in the Czech Republic. By means of an event analysis covering the years 1993-2013 and using the theoretical premises of Actor-Centred Institutionalism and Social Construction of Target Groups, the paper shows that most institutions and actors active in the observed area of the policy are primarily focused on criminal repression rather than the rights and needs of human trafficking victims. Even the position of the victim is rather weak in the observed segment of the policy in comparison to the declaratory stances. In relation to actors and institutions, the position of the victims is strengthened by the Act on Social Services and weakened, besides other things, by several institutionalized uses of the human trafficking concept. In practice, the group which reaches help and rights is narrowed by them, and, at the same time, they act as an uncertainty factor in the work of Law Enforcement Authorities and other actors. The Impacts of Legalized Prostitution in Germany

The goal of this master's thesis is to understand the link between legalization of prostitution and human trafficking. The thesis is divided into three major sections. The theoretical part defines major terms, such as human trafficking and prostitution. This section also describes the issue of human trafficking and prostitution in the context of the Czech Republic and in the context of Germany. The empirical part/section is based on interviews with a number of social workers in Germany, and its primary goal is to elicit whether legalization of prostitution in Germany caused an increase in the number of victims of human trafficking. Specifics od Field Work with Women exploited in the Sex Industry

This thesis deals with the topic of sexual exploitation of women in prostitution from the perspective of field social work and the activities of the Christian mission NGO - OM Czech Republic (OM ČR). It introduces the issue of prostitution and sexual exploitation as closely- linked negative phenomena in society. It analyzes contemporary theoretical positions and types of legal regulations of prostitution in different countries, including the Czech Republic. It also describes the method of field work and its application to the target group of women in prostitution, general characteristics, and the specifics of sexually exploited persons. It deals in greater detail with the principles of field work with this socially stigmatized group. The work of OM ČR is introduced by recalling the biblical paradigms of missions, the deaconry and the pastorate, and the principles of the pursuit of social justice, the holistic approach to man, and the involvement of Christians in social work. These paradigms and principles are also used in the ministry of OM ČR, including during field work with the target group. The individual aspects of the work are described in detail.

Human trafficking in the agenda of international organisations

This Bachelor thesis is concerned with the influence of international organizations on the trafficking in human beings. First part of the work describes historical background of human trafficking, but also the definition of this criminal activity and types of exploitation of human beings within the framework of trafficking in human beings. The paper also tries to come up with statistics concerning human trafficking, especially the victims and their age, gender, origin and type of exploitation. Other statistics concerns the countries of origin, transit and destination, which are most frequently used towards human trafficking. Last chapter of the first part deals with international organizations which are fighting against human trafficking. Among those international organizations, there are government organizations like UN or EU, but also nongovernmental organizations, which usually focus on helping the victims of human trafficking. The second part of this work is focusing on particular international organizations-UN, EU, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. Factors that lead to the start of human trafficking

This thesis is focused on the topic of human trafficking. The main aim is to find out the internal factors leading a person to become a victim of human trafficking. The term human trafficking is explained from many points of view such as social work, prevention and legislation. The chapters are focused on explaining what human trafficking is and how it is different from other similar terms which are really easy to confuse with it. This thesis is also about the mechanism of human trafficking and factors leading to the situation of human trafficking. I conducted interviews with some victims of human trafficking to explore the internal factors that led them to making their decision. The practical part of the thesis includes six interviews which I summarized and included three of them written word for word in the appendix of the thesis. I analyzed the interviews and set the codes and categories which I compared to the internal categories written in books that include the factors that lead people to human trafficking. From this comparison, I made new categories to work with. I interpreted the new categories and found new factors leading to the situation of human trafficking.
